    Domestic Gas

    Domestic Gas training courses and assessments for renewals. initial (for 12 months lapsed) and new entrants.

    Introduction

We therefore make sure that our trainers have everything they need to deliver first class training, by keeping our workshops stocked with the latest equipment and making sure the best safety equipment is provided on-site within each classroom.

    Courses

    This course is an IGEM recognised training programme certificated by Cert-ain Certification Ltd and is designed specifically for new or recent entrants to the gas industry who have no previous experience but are seeking ACS gas qualifications leading to Gas Safe registration.

    A requirement for entry onto the course is that the candidate must be working in the gas industry under the supervision of a Gas Safe registered operative who will be required to sign off a work based portfolio.
     
    Course entry requirements:
     
    No previous experience in the gas industry is required, however because of the technology content and planned home study candidates should have a reasonable standard of English and Mathematics.

    CCN1

    The cost of the course includes training, assessment and certification fees.

    This Gas Safety Assessment is designed to test the gas safety competence of an operative in core domestic gas work. Assessment will be through practical and written tasks to ascertain your knowledge and understanding. To work with natural gas in a domestic environment, candidates must hold a CCN1 as their core qualification. They must then achieve qualifications in the various appliances: Cookers, Fires, Central Heating etc.

    LAU1

    The cost of the course includes training, assessment and certification fees.

    This Gas Safety Assessment is designed to test the gas safety competence of an operative in the work of: installation, exchanging, disconnecting, servicing, repairing and breakdown and commission of domestic gas laundry appliances. Assessment will be through practical and written tasks to ascertain your knowledge and understanding.

    MET1

    The cost of the course includes training, assessment and certification fees.

    This Gas Safety Assessment is designed to test the gas safety competence of an operative in the work of: installation, exchange, removal and commission of domestic gas meters. Range of meters covered: Primary and secondary meters up to 6 cubic metres per hour capacity. Assessment will be through practical and written tasks to ascertain your knowledge and understanding.

    DAH1

    The cost of the course includes training, assessment and certification fees.

    This Gas Safety Assessment is designed to test the gas safety competence of an operative in the work of: installation, exchange, disconnection, service, repair, breakdown and commission of domestic gas fired ducted-air heaters not exceeding 70kW input. Assessment will be through practical and written tasks to ascertain your knowledge and understanding.

    HTR1

    The cost of the course includes training, assessment and certification fees.

    This Gas Safety Assessment is designed to test the gas safety competence of an operative in the work of: installation, exchange, disconnecting, service, repair, breakdown and commission of domestic open, balanced and fan assisted flued gas fires and wall heaters. Assessment will be through practical and written tasks to ascertain your knowledge and understanding.

    CKR1

    The cost of the course includes training, assessment and certification fees.

    This Gas Safety Assessment is designed to test the gas safety competence of an operative in the work of: installation, exchange, disconnection, service, repair, breakdown and commission of domestic cooking appliances. Assessment will be through practical and written tasks to ascertain your knowledge and understanding.

    CENWAT

    The cost of the course includes training, assessment and certification fees.

    This Gas Safety Assessment is designed to test the gas safety competence of an operative in the work of: installation, exchange, disconnection, service, repair, breakdown and commission of domestic gas, central heating/hot water boilers and water heaters. Assessment will be through practical and written tasks to ascertain your knowledge and understanding.

    HWB1

    The cost of the course includes training, assessment and certification fees.

    This Gas Safety Assessment is designed to test the gas safety competence of an operative in the work of: installation, exchange, disconnection, service, repair, breakdown and commission of swimming pool boilers. Assessment will be through practical and written tasks to ascertain your knowledge and understanding.

    CONGLP1/PD/RPH/B

    CONGLP1/PD/RPH/B – FUEL CHANGEOVER NATURAL GAS TO LPG FOR WORK IN PERMANENT DWELLINGS, RESIDENTIAL PARK HOMES, BOATS, YACHTS & OTHER VESSELS

    The cost of the course includes training, assessment and certification fees.

    This (CONGLP1/PD) Core Gas Safety Assessment is designed to test the gas safety competence of an operative intending to extend the work range from natural gas to liquefied petroleum gas, in both domestic and commercial permanent dwellings. Assessment will be through practical and written tasks to ascertain your knowledge and understanding.

    RPH – RESIDENTIAL PARK HOMES

    This Core Gas Safety Assessment covers the competencies required to cover Liquid Petroleum Gas in Residential Park Homes. However, it does not stand alone and must be used in conjunction with the Generic Domestic LPG Core or Changeover to LPG (CONGLP1 PD)

    It is designed to test the gas safety competence of an operative in the core domestic liquefied petroleum gas competencies for residential park homes. Assessment will be through practical and written tasks to ascertain your knowledge and understanding.

    B – BOATS

    This Core Gas Safety Assessment covers the competencies required to cover Liquid Petroleum Gas in Boats, Yachts & other Vessels. However, it does not stand alone and must be used in conjunction with the Generic Domestic LPG Core or Changeover to LPG (CONGLP1 PD)

    It is designed to test the gas safety competence of an operative in the core domestic liquefied petroleum gas competencies for boats, yachts & other vessels. Assessment will be through practical and written tasks to ascertain your knowledge and understanding.

    C0DNESP1

    The cost of the course includes training, assessment and certification fees.

    This Changeover Assessment is designed to assess the gas safety competence of an operative holding Core Domestic ACS certificate CCN1 who intends to carry out work for an emergency service provider, dealing with gas emergencies and the downstream of the emergency/meter control. Assessment will be through practical and written tasks to ascertain your knowledge and understanding.

    PART L

    The cost of the course includes training, assessment, training manual and certification fees.

    The Part L qualification is designed for central heating installers that need to self-certificate their work via one of the Competent Persons Schemes. The course covers the requirements of Part L of the Building Regulations and assessment will be completed online.

    This new four day course is aimed at plumbers and gas installers and covers safe isolation of electrics and central heating systems controls. More information is contained in the handbooks which can be downloaded by clicking the links below.
