Gas (Level 2)
City & Guilds Apprenticeship with WLT
The Gas Level 2 Apprenticeship is comprised of:
- NVQ award in Gas Installation and Maintenance (C&G 6089)
- Technical Certificate in Gas Installation and Maintenace (C&G 6132)
- Key Skills Certificates: Application of Number and Communication
Training for the Technical Certificate is delivered on a day-release basis at West London Training and is both classroom and workshop based. The Technical Certificate covers all the relevant theory and practical hand skills needed to carry out the work to fulfill the requirements for the NVQ. The modules for the Technical Certificate include:
- Safety Legislation and Standards
- Pipe Work Installation
- Combustion and Gas Safety Controls
Apprentices spend the remainder of the week working with their employers, applying their theory knowledge and putting practical skills into practice.
To complete the course, candidates must also achieve their ACS assessments in Core Domestic Gas Safety (CCN1) and Central Heating Boilers (CEN1). On successful completion, students will be able to apply for CORGI registration.
